The first page of the zine. The title reads 'poetry'. It's underlined with a pattern of dots and dashes: SOS in morde code. Below that, there are two quotes: 'my heart beats in morse code/ three letters, on repeat: S.O.S' and 'a metronome turned ticking-time-bomb'. Under that is a page divider that looks like a cardiogram, and the text 'These are lines from two poems I wrote about anxiety during my first year of secondary school. I don't remember the rest of them. I'm pretty sure the only copies I had are on my old, broken phone'.
The second page of the zine. The title reads 'lightbulb heads'. It has a large drawing of a woman with a lightbulb for a head. Her arms are crossed. The text reads 'When I was like ten years old, I was obssessed with drawing people with lightbulbs for heads. I don't know why'. Below that, 'I also used to draw these guys everywhere', with an arrow pointing to doodles of a snail with a sad face and a fish with a happy face. Both have very large eyes.
The third page of the zine. The lower half of the page is a drawing of a person curled up in a ball in the center of a Bohr model atom with nine electrons. Beside it is a scribbled 'I'M TOO REACTIVE'. The top of the page is text, which reads 'I made this when I was fourteen or so. The person is the nucleus of a fluorine atom, the most reactive element. At this point in my life, I felt like I was getting upset over every little thing'.
The fourth page of the zine. The title reads 'covid zine'. The page has a drawing of deadpool wearing a surgical mask over his costume. There are doodles of virus cells in the corner of the page. The page's text reads'I made a zine during lockdown titled '7 and 1/2 things to do in quarantine'. The only 'thing' I remember from the list was watching movies, which included a list of recommendations. the back cover had an illustration of deadpool wearing a face mask, and telling you to do the same'.
The fifth page of the zine. The title reads 'face paint'. The page's text is surrounded by simplified drawings of flowers, a bird, a horse, a mouse, a bird, and a rabbit. The text reads 'Recently, I ended up doing face-painting at a family member's wedding. My aunt handed me the kit and said 'you're good at art, right?'. With limited colors, kids that wouldn't sit still for long, and nothing to clean up mistakes with, I had to keep it simple.
